Mr. Aubrey Tawhai - (Chairman)

Tenei te mihi kau ake ki a koutou katoa I runga I nga whakarerenga mai a kui ma a koro ma

I grew up in Omaio / Otuwhare with my siblings, under the guidance of my parents and extended whanau. Attended the local primary and secondary schools and left home in 1960 to pursue a career In the Electrical Trade. I returned home to dairy farm in 1976 for twenty years. I graduated as a school teacher in 1999 and taught in primary and secondary schools and I am currently a lecturer for Te Wananga o Aotearoa. I was encouraged and nominated by my pakeke as a member of this Incorporated Committee. I have endeavored and continue to serve to the best of my ability for the future wellbeing of the shareholders of these Incorporated lands. I am supported by my wife Astrid our four children seven mokopuna, my hapu and my Iwi..

Mr. Erueti Tiketikeirangi Koopu

I am 57 years old married to Jill and we have 4 children. I have an accountancy background having spent two years study at Auckland University. I also have 3 years experience working in the Maori Land Court in Rotorua and in 1975 was appointed clerk and interpreter for Judge Eddie Durie. Some previous positions I have held include: member of the Mataatua Maori Land Advisory committee, member of the Raukumara Park Board Advisory committee with the Department of Conservation, Councilor with the Opotiki District Council in which time I was Chairman of the Tourism Promotions Board and also Chairman of the Rate review committee.

 

Mr. Hekara Mato

I was born at Te Piki, Whangaparaoa on a dairy farm where healthy work ethics and life values were instilled. I attended Whangaparaoa Primary. Te Whanau-A-Apanui District High School and completed Advanced Trade Training & Cadet and ProjectManagment in Wellington and Whakatane. I travelled for 15 years working overseas as site manager,site foreman or project manager on multibuilding projects. I find being a Trustee for land blocks stimulating and rewarding.

 

Mrs. Ruby Taunoa

My name is Ruby Taunoa (nee Mato) living currently in Opotiki. I was born in Maraenui and later moved to attend Opotiki District High School. I have a background in nursing, farm and small business management. I have a particular interest in health from a Maori perspective. I have Diplomas in Oranga Hinengaro and, business management. About 30 years ago, our kaumatua at home were constantly at me to come home and represent them on a committee and help look after our tipuna whenua.

 

Mr. Raymond Gage

Raymond was born and raised in Omaio, today lives in Kawerau where he has worked for many years in the pulp mill and gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in this industry.

I have over 35 years teaching experience with a higher Diploma inTeaching with two paper dissertation to complete Masters in Education. I am currently Principal of Te Kura Mana Maori o Whangaparaoa and a trustee of several Land Trusts including Mangaroa Ohotu.
